Cincinnati drivers may be more likely to receive speeding tickets - Robert R. Hart, Jr., Attorney at Law

Cincinnati drivers may be more likely to receive speeding tickets

Dec 9, 2022 | traffic violations

In Ohio, receiving a ticket for driving over the speed limit could come with a range of penalties. Some of the repercussions associated with speeding include higher insurance rates, expensive fines and points on a driver’s license. In Cincinnati, more drivers could be facing these consequences as local law enforcement is ramping up monitoring and increasing the number of tickets written in an effort to get people to slow down.

Safety and education for area drivers

The intent behind increased speeding enforcement is to make the roads safer for everyone. Recent reports on driver behavior in the area found that drivers often go 30 mph or more above the posted speed limit. The city is using social media to spread awareness and encourage drivers to adhere to the speed limit.

The city has also dedicated nine officers to the effort of education and traffic safety enforcement. There are certain parts of the city where speeding has been especially prevalent, and area residents have said that they’ve noticed more officers in the area stopping drivers. Speeding is a traffic violation that local law enforcement is taking seriously.

When is it best to fight a ticket?

Fighting a ticket may not seem like it is worth the effort. Most Ohio drivers may assume that it is best to simply pay the fine and move on, however, this is not always the case. There are times when it is prudent to fight a ticket and avoid the penalties associated with it, but it may be helpful to discuss this possibility with an experienced traffic violation attorney first.
